Hello from backache land

Oh, how I wish I had a fun tale to tell about my mid-to-lower backache. But, alas it seems (who uses 'alas' anymore?!) that my "tomorrow-I'll-be-3-months-old" son is teething. I can't figure out what else it would be - bumps in his gums where his incisors are or will be (yup, he'll be a vampire if this really happens!), knawing on his fist, screaming at the top of his lungs a couple times a day for a hour or more, not interested in eating, no fever, and will NOT let me put him down or sit down with him...I'm stumped, so I'm blaming it on teeth. But how weird will he look with 2 fangs??!!!

Of course, Sutton started teething early, too...or so I thought. She drooled and knawed like mad for months. And she didn't get her first tooth until she was 9 months old! But she never screamed like this poor boy...if he keeps it up I'll take him to the doctor in a couple days just in case.

Before our healthcare runs out on July 31. Actually, we signed up for a temporary plan. If we had chosen Texas Continuation (just like COBRA), which is what Troy's old job offered, it would have cost us $1100 a month...sheesh. But we will get the same coverage, same doctors for just $270 a month on temporary insurance. My advice to you: never, never, never just take what a previous employer doles out. Always look around.

No luck on the job front for Troy. The previous clients who were banging down his door to hang him business suddenly changed their mind apparently. That company is going thru annual planning and is consolidating all the agency work. His interviews have dried up. He's getting depressed and frustrated. I'm starting to get worried. We have equity in Troy's car which is paid for, and SO much equity in this house...yeah...crazy, crazy thoughts go through your head when you have 2 youngs kids and no paycheck.

Oh hey, here's something SUPER DUPER exciting! I may be starting a business with my mom. She makes these amazing swaddle blankets that are perfect, and she's been doing them for years and years. Well, everyone who is lucky enough to receive them for their new baby says 'you should sell these'. So I've convinced her to sell them on the web!
Our website is www.tenliltoes.com, and won't really be up until September. Mom's on vacation a lot between now and then and she needs time to build up inventory. We're going to sell the blankets, which we've named 'snughugs' and matching burp cloths and changing pads. Way cool stuff! So I'm the business end - website, advertising, picking cloth, and she's the labor side. I'll keep you updated!

That's it, hope you're all having a great week.
